28th May 2011
We have a big gig coming up on the 28th May at the Monto Water Rats (a few minutes’ walk from London Kings Cross station), with the opening slot at 7pm.
This is a superb venue where lots of great artists have performed before.. its a fantastic opportunity for us to play there, so please come along to show your support for this one! Its open for everyone so feel free to bring a friend along as well.
Unfortunately there is a small door charge of £6 when you are on the guest list, so please let me know if you like to come so I can put your name down (It’s the venue, not us charging..).
It will be a good evening with several other bands playing that night, so it’s well worth it. The venue might charge more if you are not on the guest list.. sorry!
Directions:
328 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8BZ

2nd Place in Talent Competition

18th July 2010
Yesterday, I took place in the Orpington Talent Competition and I won the second place with my performance of "Promise me".
This was a local talent competition organised by the Orpington town centre management, the management of the Churchill Theatre and the Bromley Newspaper (Newsshopper). The weather was perfect and we had quite a large audience of shoppers and visitors. There were many great acts performing as well, from singers to bands, gymnasts and dance groups.
I really enjoyed it!

I will be playing a supporting role in the 3 Penny Opera (Brecht/ Weill) which will be on stage in October at the Bromley Theatre.
Its a great play and I have performed it in Germany before about 10 years ago.. so this is a little nostalgic for me.
Also, the theatre stage will be something different to my usual singing performance so I am excited and really looking forward to it!
I will keep you up to date!

After nearly a year of work I am very excited and proud to let you know that Bright Outlook is now ready and available for you!
This is my very own first CD and it has ten of my latest songs on it that I have written and recorded over the past year, ranging from more upbeat jazzy pop-songs to emotional piano ballads. There is also a little booklet included with pictures and lyrics.
As many of you probably know, I don’t have a record contract so Bright Outlook is a 100% self-managed and self-financed project. It’s for you - so you have something you can take away and listen to at home.
You can listen to the songs and order the album in my music room. I really hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
And don’t forget to tell your friends if you do…

UK Songwriting Finalist

20 November 2009
Earlier in the year, I have submitted my songs to the UK Songwriting Competition, and now I have been named as one of the finalists!
This is the biggest national songwriting and composing competition, with more than 6,000 song entries across different categories. Songs have been assessed with regards to melody, arrangement, lyrics and originality by an industry panel. Six of my entries were semi-finalists, many of them with top scores for the level. My song “Stronger” made it to the final, one of approx. only 20 songs per category!
I was really surprised by this result as this was the first time I had entered into the competition – and it’s a real motivation to keep writing!
You can listen to "Stronger" on my website.

Open Mic Regional Finals – the results

02 November 2009
Yesterday, I was performing in the regional finals of the open mic UK singing competition! The show was held in an old theatre, and there were probably around 600 people in the audience (it looked quite sold out!). They had a big stage with amazing sound- and light equipment which blew me away as I am used to smaller pub gigs. There was also a photographer and I have posted the photos on myspace & facebook for you.
I wasn't among the winners selected for the national final, but winning wasn't really the most important thing for me that night. It was a great evening and a lot of fun and that is what counts the most!
The song I performed is a new song - called "promise me" - I have posted it on the website now so you can listen to it again! It was absolutely amazing being up there, singing on this big stage in front of large audience, and I loved every second of it! I am so glad everything went well and I had a chance to showcase my new song in front of so many new people that had never heard of me before. And the feedback was great! :-)
I want to thank you all so so so much for your support yesterday! Those who travelled all the way to Bedford to cheer me on (in a hired bus!), and those who couldn't make it but send me all their good wishes and had all fingers crossed for me.
I will definitely be doing this again - time to sign up for next years auditions!

Cancer Research Event

20 September 2009
On the 13th September I took part in the 10k run in Crystal Palace for cancer research. This is a charity event organised by Cancer Research UK, and many of these runs were taking place in different locations all across England.
As some of you might know, I have been training for this run for weeks, and I managed to run it in just under one hour.
The day was quite an event. A total of 70,000 £ in donations was collected by over a 1,000 people running on that day just in our location. It was very well organised, with a warm up for everybody and water stations along the way. There were lots of spectators on the side watching and cheering, which really gave me a push during the run! Nevertheless, the last kilometre was really painful :-(.
It was good fun and I will definitely do it again – and would like to encourage all of you to take the chance and participate next year. I would also like to thank all of you for your generous contributions. Have a look at the photos I have posted on facebook & myspace!

Open Mic Competition – Regional Finals coming up

06 September 2009
I am taking part in this years Open Mic UK singing competition – and after making two rounds in front of the judges I have now qualified for the regional final! Around 10,000 hopefuls have applied for the competition this year, and the overall final price will be a recording and management contract as well as the release of a single.
The regional final will be a big live show on the 1st November, in which I will be competing against 20 other acts in front of audience and judges. The scoring will be a combination of judge’s scores and audience votes and the successful act will secure a place in the national finals – the final stage of the competition.
I am really thrilled but also a little nervous – I have heard a lot of great singers during the first round so it will be a tough competition. But most of all this will be an amazing opportunity for me to get my songs heard by of a large audience – so I am really looking forward to this!
If you live around London you can come along and watch the show – just get in touch with me and I will organise a ticket for you. I will see you there!

I have registered for this year’s 10 kilometer challenge.
This is a charity event organised by Cancer Research UK, and many of these runs are going to take place in different locations all across England. I will be running the event in Crystal Palace Park on the 13th September.
Its quite a challenge for me – I don’t usually run for that long! So I will start training for it event next week.
You can support us runners – by donating to cancer research (http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/) or simply by coming along to the event to cheer for us! Every little donation will help, and I will give away my Cancer Research T-shirt to the person with the highest donation after the event!
